A Great Streaming Box (And Then Some)

Simply put, the Nvidia Sheild is the most powerful streaming box available on the market right now. This box streams four times faster than the Amazon Firestick and Fire TV, and the difference is noticeable. You can effortlessly watch any sort of movie, show, or live sports in full 4k HD quality without ever having to worry about lags or glitches. That’s a big draw, but this box does so much more than your average streaming device.

The Shield provides a ton of extra options for PC and console gamers, and can operate as the hub of your whole entertainment setup.. If you want to invest in a high-quality streaming box that provides a ton of features, definitely consider the Sheild.

What’s Inside

This box features Nvidia’s superpowered X1 chip with a Maxwell GPU, which provide unparalleled processing speeds. We hardly noticed a single buffer in streaming when plugged into the ethernet connection, even at the highest video quality settings. This thing is a beast, no two ways about it.

We also enjoyed how easy it is to use, with the Android Oreo operating system. This is an improvement on the 2017 model, and it is very slick and easy to navigate your library of games and apps.

A Gaming Powerhouse

Where this device really shines, though, is with gaming. If you are a PC gamer with a Nvidia GeForce compatible gaming rig, you can effortlessly stream everything straight onto your TV with no lag. This is a pretty exceptional feature that has made the Nvidia Sheild practically a necessity for the PC gaming crowd. You can access your entire collection straight from your couch with no loss in quality. Now people who enjoy desktop games can play on their big screen just like console gamers, which is a huge bonus.

In addition, you get access to Nvidia’s GeForce Now games library (with a subscription fee of $8 a month), which is fairly extensive. You can play Call Of Duty, Dark Souls, Assassin’s Creed and other blockbuster titles as they get added. Other Android games and APKs are also available, and they all work very well with a solid ethernet connection. In short, you will have a lot of games to play outside of what you have on your PC.

The Sheild comes with Nvidia’s excellent new game controller, which looks and works very similar to an XBox controller, and should satisfy the hardcore gamers who demand precision and comfort.

Accessories

The Shield comes with a remote that is Google Assistant capable. The microphone works pretty well if you want to use voice commands. You can hook the Shield up to your other devices, like your surround sound and disc player using it’s built in ports, which gives you the option of simply using the Shield to control your entire home system, a very convenient option.

The memory is a bit limited at only 16 gigs for a device this powerful, but as long as you are not dead set on downloading a ton onto your device, this shouldn’t be an issue.

All in all, The Nividia is worth every penny for the hardcore streaming and PC game enthusiast with a little bit of money to spare. Highly recommended.
